Edinburgh is truly a city for all seasons. In August, there’s the world famous Festival and the high jinks of the Fringe. Midwinter brings Christmas shopping, the ice-rink in Princes Street Gardens, the twinkling white lights of the Christmas tree on the Mound and then the madcap partying of Hogmanay. And between times, the spring flowers bloom in the grass below Edinburgh Castle, or the Old Town’s skyline shows sharp against the clear blue sky of a sunny autumn morning.
